Story Notes: Story takes place in a canon-compliant (not-counting-the-comics) post series universe I’ve sort of inadvertently created with all my post-canon, semi-canon-compliant stories. So this one could be considered canon compliant too, except it goes off the rails as to what’s happened in the ensuing years. Since I completely abandoned the comics as end-point some years ago in this fic, nothing is any longer recognizable except the characters, not where they are, not what they’re doing, and not the state of the world. I trust my readers will catch up, since all the subsequent world building is in text. If you catch any easter eggs of references to the other stories in this “series,” brownie points for you, but as always with this series, the other stories are not required to understand what’s going on in this one, so feel free to jump right in, everyone. The only references needed to understand is that demons’ existence is out of the bag, and a few years ago Spike and Buffy had a marriage ceremony. (Though it’s probably not legal.) That’s our starting point, and that’s all in the text, anyway. So. Hope you have fun with my first babyfic!
